Merry (almost) Christmas!

photo4Merry (almost) Christmas! This will be my last post before New Years.

I have officially been defeated by Christmas jumpers. I wanted to buy one for the first time this year and was totally overwhelmed by the selection and not being able to find the kind I wanted, and then my grand plans for Christmas jumper nails were crushed when, after an intensely stressful day of packing and finalising things for the year, my inspiration was lost and I just couldn’t get them how I wanted them. But I LOVE my Christmas lights. I’m disappointed that the photo doesn’t show how glittery they are – this is one of the only times of year I like to have glittery nails – but trust me, they are sparkle-central.

I’m all ready for my work Christmas lunch today with my nails done and my green dress on, so finally feeling a bit Christmassy. It’s been a busy year and I am really looking forward to taking these nails to Ireland for the first time tomorrow morning!

Have a great Christmas everyone and I’ll see you before New Years for some party nails to ring in 2013!

xx

blue is the new black

Blue is the new black. No seriously, it is. Read my trend report in my other blog (leopardprintaddict.wordpress.com) and you’ll see a whole section on it. Blue nails are the beauty craze of right here and right now. So I thought I’d give it a go while I was sick in bed for 2 days bored out of my brain. I picked up the new turqoise blue from Barry M and decided to put it next to a tried and true cobalt colour. And then I couldn’t help but add some leopard print. Oh, get over it, you can’t say you’re surprised can you?

Go out and get blue nails. It’s more fun than you think!

Stay tuned next week for a special post that I am very excited about. Have a great weekend! xx

girly hands

My lovely friend Jess headed off to Finland this morning to abandon me for 5 days…and before she left she asked me to do her nails for the very first time, which I was quite chuffed about.  Jess is a friend who is helping me with something I am struggling at – being more girly. I am very girly in a lot of ways, makeup, hair, shoes…but my overall style is very much black and grey and leather and studs and skulls and what not, so I am attempting to soften it a bit more, and Jess is my go to girl. As you can see by what she requested I design for her, she’s girly. We chose a great selection of Barry M colours and this is the end result.

I really love this design, and I think I might have to do a version of it on myself this week. And the most important thing is that Jess loved them. I do love a happy customer. Especially one who pays me in wine.
